Welcome to Wandering Wolf Farm

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love the idea of farming.

Maybe it’s in my blood. Both sides of my family have roots in it—grandparents who lived it, a mom who grew up on a farm, and a dad whose family had a small hobby farm tucked away in the woods, always full of animals.

For me, there’s nothing quite like it. Expansive land, growing crops, the sounds of animals, the smell of soil after rain. Well…most of the time.

There are also moments that aren’t quite as idyllic. Like recently, when I was more than ready to move our very loud (and messy) chicks outside, but their chicken tractor wasn’t finished yet.

But then the fresh eggs start coming in, and my kids laugh at the absolute weirdness of chickens, and somehow it all feels worth it.

How it Started

Like a lot of small farms, this didn’t happen overnight.

It started as something I was drawn to. Then it became a hobby. And eventually, it turned into something I couldn’t ignore…a dream that kept growing.

In 2023, not long after my mom’s death, my dad and I purchased just over five acres in Hansville, tucked into one of the most beautiful parts of the Kitsap Peninsula. The land already had a history as a floral operation, with blooms stretching from early spring through fall; daffodils, tulips, peonies, dahlias, and more.

From the beginning, it felt like the start of something.

What We’re Building

Wandering Wolf Farm is more than a place to grow food and flowers.

We’re building a farm that provides fresh, organically grown produce, flowers, and eggs for our local community. But just as importantly, we’re creating a place where people can come together—where kids can learn, families can explore, and visitors can slow down and spend time outside.

A place rooted in nature, but open to everyone.

Our mission is simple in spirit, even if it’s big in scope: to grow food and flowers in a way that supports the land, benefits the ecosystem, and nourishes people. To share what we’re learning. To create opportunities for connection, education, and a little bit of joy.

We want this to be a place where:

  • People learn how things grow

  • Kids get their hands in the dirt

  • Flowers are picked for celebrations big and small

  • Community feels natural, not forced

Growing in Phases

One thing I wasn’t fully prepared for was just how much goes into starting a farm like this.

The time. The effort. The investment. The unpredictability. We’re building this step by step.

Phase one is about establishing the land: planting crops, expanding flowers, and beginning to welcome people in small ways through classes, tours, and farm visits.

Phase two will grow into more offerings: opening the farm store, expanding our educational programs, and creating more opportunities for people to gather, learn, and stay.

Phase three looks even further ahead: retreats, deeper community partnerships, and a space that feels like a true destination while still holding onto the quiet, rural character that makes this place special.

It hasn’t all gone smoothly (we’ll save those stories for campfires and tours), but we’re building something real. And that matters more.

A Place to Gather

At its heart, Wandering Wolf Farm is about connection.

To the land.
To food.
To each other.

We’re committed to farming in a way that supports soil health, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability. That means working with nature, not against it, using practices like crop rotation, companion planting, and natural pest management.

But the impact doesn’t stop at the field.

We’re working toward creating educational opportunities for kids and families, supporting local food access, and building a place where people feel welcome to come as they are.

A place to learn something new.
A place to take a breath.
A place to feel a little more grounded.

See You Soon

We’re getting close. This spring, we’ll begin opening the farm in small ways—starting with classes, early crops, and opportunities to visit and experience what we’re building. There’s still a lot to do. There always will be. But we’re ready to start sharing it.

If you’d like to follow along, sign up for our newsletter or find us on social. We’d love to connect now, and even more, we look forward to meeting you here soon, where food, flowers, and folks come together.
